Karli Swenson

Public Health Intern

Karli is a PhD candidate at the University of Colorado School of Public Health. In the summer of 2022, Karli is completing her practicum for her Masters Degree in Maternal and CHild Health. Karli is interested in all facets of drug consumption during pregnancy. In her PhD work, Karli is studying how CBD consumption during pregnancy impacts baby’s development using an animal model. Additionally, Karli is working towards her Masters Degree in Maternal and Child Health where she is working to understand how pregnant people with substance use disorders can be supported by their communities. Karli’s work has focused on the public health system and research and she is hoping to expand her knowledge to public health in the hospital system during her time as an intern at CPCQC.
