Emily Fawaz, MS, OTR/L

Emily lives in Fort Collins with her husband and three boys under three! Her oldest are twins who were born at 28 weeks who spent 116 days in the NICU. After becoming a NICU mama, she developed a strong passion for connecting with other families and using her voice and her story to help others better understand the unimaginable experiences that families face when they have a child in the NICU. She joined the Board of Directors for the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) and participates in the DEFINE program to improve family engagement in the NICU. She is a participant in the FIRST program integrating lived experience throughout CPCQC. She also participates in other Colorado based organizations to support NICU families including serving on the Board of Directors for Love for Lily and on the leadership council for the NICU Consortium Partnership. Professionally, Emily is an occupational therapist, and recently starting practicing in Early Intervention working with children ages 0-3 with the hope of being able to continue to support NICU families during their transition home. When she is not advocating for NICU families or working as an OT she enjoys being with her family and spending as much time in warm, blue water as she can.
