The SOAR (SuppOrting vAginal delivery for low-Risk mothers) initiative supports birthing hospitals to reduce the variation and disparities in Cesarean delivery rates for low-risk birthing people using a structured quality improvement and collaborative learning framework through the implementation of a clinical care checklist on the unit.
Teams have the opportunity to be on two different tracks:
- Active: Hospitals who are actively working to address their NTSV rate that is consistently higher than the Healthy People 2030 Goal of 23.6%.
- Sustainability: Hospitals that have an NTSV rate consistently at or below the Healthy People 2030 goal of 23.6%.
Teams will work with their Quality Improvement Advisor to determine the best track for their facility.
