Daniel O’Connell is a licensed attorney and government affairs executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience in state, federal, corporate, and nonprofit advocacy. He currently serves as Vice President of External Affairs for UnitedHealth Group, where he leads legislative, political, and public affairs initiatives across multiple states to advance high-quality, affordable health care. Daniel’s career includes leading advocacy roles with the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Children’s Campaign, and in Washington, D.C., representing diverse client base before Congress and federal agencies. He has recently served on the board of the Colorado Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and began his career as a sixth-grade teacher in Phoenix, Arizona through the Teach For America program. In addition to being a graduate of Boston College and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Dan is proud husband to his wife, Julie, and father to his two young sons who love to golf, play basketball, and watch an occasional football game with dad.
